Training Field closures
Field closures will be communicated via our Facebook page and comms to coach/managers via our Friendly Manager Portal. Council tends to make a call at around 3pm so we will look to communicate this once we hear. The council has been more active in closing fields over the last year or 2 to mitigate damage. This is outside our control but we would expect to communicate around that time.
Saturday morning games/field closures
Teams can choose to use corner flags if they wish. These will be located in our normal changeroom block (outside storage area next to the container). If flags are out and there is no game directly after you then please ensure these are returned to their original location.
If you are allocated games at Alice Johnson Oval, flags will be available at those locations for those fields.
Saturday morning field closures are often location based rather than general closures. Please head to the Waibop website if unsure and follow their Facebook page. They will update their first. We will look to communicate with the information we are provided but it does come in and various times.
8th grade/U8 Girls.
Teams in these ages use smaller 2m x 1m goals as we do in Minimoa. These must be also picked up for game day use. They are in the outside storage area next to the container. If games are allocated at AJO then equipment will be available there for use.
This is the first year we have moved across locations so will take some time to action and find the most efficient process.
The first week or 2 is carnage across the city but comes right after the initial weeks. Please ensure those goals are also returned if there is no game directly after you. No corner flags are to be used for these games, please just use cones.
Goals
Every time we are at the park we notice goals moved. This has flow on effects for teams following and council lining and mowing. Please ensure that no goals are relocated that are situated on Game fields. The club does have other goals around the park that aren't used for game fields. Feel free to use those but please leave them off the actual pitches. Ideally these are all returned next to light poles so out of the way.
Field numbering
https://papamoafc.co.nz/club-stuff/training-field-allocations
Field numbering has changed this year for a number of reasons. Please recheck all numbers before heading to the ground as around 70% of field numbers have changed.
A reminder that this year we have uploaded a large range of data and information to our website. This should be your primary access point for information. If you can not locate the information on the web, then please message us through the email contact addresses on the website. This would really support us for the season ahead.
