Turning 8-13
Register

Junior football is dedicated to the next level of the footballing pathway.

Research has identified that the golden age of learning & development is between the ages of 8 and 13 years.  So with that in mind, we concentrate on providing a Junior Framework that is a consistent and coordinated approach to the development of junior players.  Its main aim is to provide all junior players with Football experiences that increase passion for the game. Through the Junior Framework players will experience age appropriate games and coaching. The focus is on fun.

Registration and Season

Registration and Season

Registrations are open until the 31st of March.  Any registrations after this date will be considered if spaces are still available in that relevant grade.

The 2025 season will begin near the end of April or the start of May. Fixtures will be available once teams have been sorted during April.

MemberShip Fees

Players have 2 options when registering to play. These are  A, selecting the full payment option or B, selecting Time Payment (players will select the inital time payment fee and the club book keeper will then re occur this invoice in our accounting programme (Xero) a further 2 times. Time payment option incurs an administration fee.

Full upfront payment is $170.Time payment is $61(inital) and reoccured 2 further times(Total $181)

Refunds

Should players who register and later choose not to participate then a refund of full fees paid less a $10 admin fee will apply.

Should players who register and who subsequently been allocated to a team are able to be issued a club refund of fees paid to date less a $25 admin fee.

A full credit of fees paid to date can be loaded against the players profile in lieu and this is the clubs preference.

It is a time consuming process to refund via bank transfer and providing a credit to the profile is an easier and simplier solution. Due to us being a not for profit and under the new incorporated societies act it is a 4 person process to refund via bank transfer.

Teams

The club does its best to try and keep teams together as players age but it must be noted that

*Football is played in Year of Birth and not School Year. Players are expected to play in their correct age band as best they can noting once in junior football playing in age is a requirement

* Team allocations will be confirmed by club team allocators ( who are volunteers) and who do their best to accomodate however

* Players who attend our FCTM Skills Hub in 9th and 10th grade will be asked if they would like to have their own seperate teams so can train and play together

* As players age and teams get larger (ie 5 a side, 7 a side, 9 a side and to 11 a side) then teams must break / change and be reallcoated.

* Some players do not continue and

* New players to the club must be accommodated

* Players registering later are harder to accomodate to existing teams as allocation of teams will likely begin Mid March. It is more likely you will have a larger group of previous players in a team if you register early

*Coaches may or may not continue

Equipment/Playing Kit

  • To participate in the season all players must have Club shirt, socks and shorts (Parents are responsible for purchasing the club kit) and Shinpads. Players can choose whether to use plastic moulded boots or sandshoes. Details on how to purchase club kit can be FOUND HERE

Training factors will be dependant on coach and pitch availability.  Players may be required to travel to other clubs in the Western Bay of Plenty area but the vast majority of games are played locally( Te Puke, Mount Maunganui ,Waipuna, Greerton and Otumoetai).
