Season Information and Equipment Needs
Survey
After the first year of running our Friday evening minimoas programme we ran a survey to which we had 37 respondees. The survey asked a range of questions.
Fridays -The feedback was a majority preferred Fridays. Due to the year on year growth of the club, and with an expected membership of 935 players we do not have the field space or carparking to play our Minimoa programme at the same time as Junior football. The programmes also utililses the same space and equipment and with the lack of sufficent storage the club could not operate either programme efficently.
Therefore Friday evenings will continue for the foreseeable future. This is becoming more common place around the country as football continues to grow realatve the majority of other codes. Papamoa FC grows 7% per year.
Timing - Based on the survey responses we have made the following changes. Players turning 4 to 6 years old in 2025 will start at 4.00pm and finish at 4.50 pm. Players turning 7 will begin at 5pm and finish at 6pm.
Length of sessions-The feedback was that the younger age bands preferred a shorter time period to stay engaged so for 2025 we have made the decision that players turning 4 to 6 will run 50 minutes rather than 60 minutes,
Skills Hub Programme-The club has developed a Skills Hub Programme for this age band which will run on Monday evenings for those that would like an additional traning session. Details can be FOUND HERE
Season Start and Finish-The feedback was that starting the season earlier and finishing the season earlier was the preference. Numbers drop off in July and it becomes more difficult to run a consistent programme as team numbers vary greatly. It is commonplace that the younger the member the more likely they will not turn up due to inclement weather(which does effect how the programmes run)

MemberShip Fees
Players have 2 options when registering to play. These are A, selecting the full payment option or B, selecting Time payment( players will select the inital time payment fee then our club book keeper will then re occur this invoice in our accounting programme called Xero a further 2 times. Time payment options incur an administration fee.
Teams
The club does its best to try and keep teams together as players age but it must be noted that
* as players age and teams get larger and move on to larger fields being 5 a side, 7 a side, 9 a side and to 11 a side then teams must change.
* some players do not continue and
* new players to the club must be accomodated
* players registering later are harder to accomadate to existing teams as allocation of teams does begin as registrations come through. It is more likely you will have a larger group of previous players in a team if you register early
