Junior football is dedicated to the next level of the footballing pathway from the Fun Football grades.
Research has identified that the golden age of learning & development is between the ages of 9 and 12 years. So with that in mind, we will concentrate on providing a Junior Framework that is a consistent, coordinated approach to the development of junior players. Its main aim is to provide all junior players with high quality Football experiences that increase passion for the game, fundamental movement and playing skills. Through the Junior Framework players will experience age appropriate games and coaching in a programme that is specifically tailored to meet their wants and needs.
Playing Time
Teams will train once a week between Monday to Thursday and will be dependant on coach and pitch availability. Players will be required to travel to other clubs in the Western Bay of Plenty area (eg: Papamoa, Mount, Te Puke, Greerton, Otumoetai, Welcome Bay, Katikati and the odd trip to Whakatane) for games on Saturday mornings.
The following grades for boys and girls are selected by the year they are born which is denoted in (brackets).
Boys
- 9th grade (2014) - 7 v 7
- 10th grade (2013) - 7 v 7
- 11th grade (2012) - 9 v 9
- 12th grade (2011) - 9 v 9
Girls
- Under 10s (2013/2014) - 9 v 9
- Under 12s (2011/2012) - 9 v 9
Registration and Season
Registrations are open until the end of March. Any registrations after this date will be considered if spaces are still available in that relevant grade. To register head to our registration page here.
The 2023 season will begin 6th May 2023 and fixtures will be available once teams have been registered during April.
On the 22nd April 2023 we will also be holding team photos for all teams in the Junior space. More information on location and times will be provided after registrations close and teams have been populated.
Equipment
To participate in the junior football, all players must have the following playing gear, which is compulsory.
Parents are responsible for purchasing the full kit.

Team Photos
Papamoa FC will be holding team photos once everyone has their kit (Time and day TBC). Players wishing to participate will require to have full kit as stated above please. Playing tops are to be new logo only.
